Compassion In Action for cats in Upper Manhattan!
Up Manhattan Cat Rescue aims to reduce the homeless cat population through spay and neuter as well as finding homes for abandoned cats and kittens born to community cats in Washington Heights and Hudson Heights. There are no free or low cost spay/neuter services provided by the city. Up Manhattan Cat Rescue has partnered with veterinary clinics for low-cost spay/neuter and medical care. This is possible because of our 501c3 status. We rely 100% on generous donations to feed, shelter, spay/neuter and provide medical care for the cats we rescue and those we take care of that live amongst us behind apartment buildings and in city parks. YOUR DONATION IS TAX DEDUCTIBLE!
Rescue Cats in Need
It is a sad reality that many cats are abandoned on the streets of NYC. They are not equipped to survive on the street. We rescue these cats, give them medical care and find forever homes where they will be safe and cared for without fear of ever being abandoned again.
We rescue abandoned cats and kittens born to community cats to stop the cycle and then we find homes for their kittens.
Provide Safe Haven for Community Cats
Community Cats are more comfortable living outside, close enough for us to take care of them but they cannot live inside or get too close to people. They still need us to help them. Up Manhattan Cat Rescue provides winter shelters, regular meals and medical care.
Foster a Cat, Save A Life
Our greatest need is fosters. Foster homes are the bridge to a forever home. We provide all medical care and when needed all other supplies (food, litter etc).
We only ask that the foster gives love and attention to prepare the cat(s)/kittens for their forever homes.
It is important that our fosters are just as happy as the cats so we make sure that the right match is made for the right length of time that works for everyone!
